FAQs

Who is this service for?

1

This service is for adults aged 18 and over who are seeking an Autism assessment.

Do I need a GP referral?

2

No. You can self-refer directly.

What makes us different?

3

We combine a thoughtful, human-centered approach with clear communication and reliable results. The feedback our clients give us highlights how validated they feel in their experiences and how useful they find the assessment process.

How can I contact you?

4

You can reach us anytime via our contact page or email. We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.

Are appointments online or in person?

5

All appointments are offered online.

What if I feel uncomfortable on video?

5

That is understandable. Some people seeking Autism assessments find video calls effortful or uncomfortable. We aim to make the process as manageable as possible and can discuss pacing, breaks, and communication preferences with you.

What if I do not remember much about childhood?

6

This is common. Many adults worry that patchy memory will prevent a meaningful assessment. We work with the information that is available and consider multiple sources wherever possible.

Do I need to involve a parent or family member?

7

In some circumstances, collateral developmental information can be helpful. However, this is not necessary for the assessment, and we understand that this is not possible or appropriate for everyone. We will discuss alternatives with you where needed.

What happens if I am not Autistic?

8

Assessment can still be useful even if Autism is not the outcome. A good assessment should help clarify what does and does not fit, and support a more accurate understanding of your difficulties and needs.

Will I receive a written report?

9

Yes. Following the assessment and feedback appointment, you will receive written documentation outlining the outcome and clinical formulation.

Assessment can still be useful even if Autism is not the outcome. A good assessment should help clarify what does and does not fit, and support a more accurate understanding of your difficulties and needs.

Can the report be used for accommodations or supports?

11

In many cases, yes, though acceptance depends on the organisation requesting it. Where appropriate, additional supporting letters may also be available.

How long does the process take?

12

This depends on availability, scheduling, and the nature of the assessment. We aim to keep the process as straightforward and timely as possible, while allowing enough time for careful assessment.

What kinds of people do you assess?

13

We work with a wide range of adults from all nationalities and cultural backgrounds, including people who mask heavily, have co-occurring anxiety or trauma histories, identify as LGBTQ+, or do not relate to traditional stereotypes of Autism.

What if I am still unsure whether to proceed?
